Drop out in competitive girl's basketball

Title: Drop out in women's youth competitive basketball Objectives: The main goal of this master thesis is to use electronic questioning to find out the reasons for the atrition of former female players, within the last five years, in the categories U12-U19 (the so-called age category 12-19 years) from the basketball Youth Sports Centers (SCM and SpS) that have been assigned the status of the year 2022. Methods: The work used a combination of the quantitative method, in the form of an electronic questionnaire that was sent to former young female players, and the qualitative method, where in-depth interviews were conducted with four coaches and one female coach. For higher accuracy and better com- parison of results, the questionnaire was constructed based on previously conducted studies on the drop out of sports activities of children and youth, specifically according to the model "Questionnaire of reasons for attri- tion" by Gould et al. (1982). Results: A total of 1945 girls droped out from basketball centers during the period under review. 160 former players participated in the research. TITLE: Knowledge of selected group of gymnasts about reduction diets in artistic gymnastics AUTHOR: Bc. Daniel Radovesnický DEPARTMENT: Department of Education SUPERVISOR: Ing. Bc. Alena Váchová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This master thesis deals with the knowledge of selected group of gymnasts about reduction diets in artistic gymnastics. It focuses on the specifics of nutrition and reduction diets in gymnastics. Based on the evaluation of a questionnaire survey, which involved a total of 73 gymnasts and gymnastics coaches. Finds out the individual knowledge of these groups, compares the knowledge of men and women and tries to figure out how active gymnasts try to reduce their body weight in the period before competition. It also provides didactic output according to current knowledge and current nutritional recommendations in sports. The work has several parts. The theoretical part describes in more detail gymnastics, energy intensity of this sport and the latest knowledge in the field of sports nutrition and diet. Setting the right diet plan is a very complicated and complex process. Achievement motivation in long distance triathlon

Title: Achievement motivation in long distance triathlon. Objectives: Determine the level of achievement motivation among triathletes, what are the differences in achievement motivation in comparison with the general population and what are the main components of achievement motivation among triathletes focusing on long distance triathlons. Methods: To determine achievement motivation we will use LMI questionnaire. To determine the level of achievement motivation we will convert the results of averages using standardized table of standard nine values that will be drawn to test profile. For statistical comparison of triathletes and general population will be used the unpaired t-test and we will determine statistically significant differences. Results: Triathletes shown higher values in the various dimensions of achievement motivation in comparison with the general population. Statistically significant differences were demonstrated in the dimensions of: endurance (t = 2.08; p ≤ 0.05), engagement (t = 2.34; p ≤ 0.05), flow (t = 2.08; p ≤ 0.05), the preference of difficulty (t = 2.14; p ≤ 2.14) and competition (t = 2.37; p ≤ 0.05). Utilization of nutritional supplements at elite athletes

Title: Utilization of nutritional supplements at elite athletes Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to determine the character and current trends in the use of nutritional supplements by the top athletes in various sports. The partial goal was to compare the results of the use of nutritional supplements and to develop feedback for individual companies selling sports supplements. Methods: A questionnaire survey was used to collect data, containing open and closed questions regarding the use of nutritional supplements. It also contained questions in what form athletes use supplements, the main reasons for use, at what frequency and what are the preferred brands of supplements. The survey was sent in electronic form to 33 respondents who practice top-level sports in the Czech Republic. Results: It was found that all the surveyed individuals take nutritional supplements. By the endurance athletes, the claim that they prefer supplements with an excitatory effect in combination with supplements leading to weight reduction has been confirmed. It was also proven that more than 50 % of respondents prefer a particular brand of nutritional supplements and do not plan to change it, and more than 50 % of athletes surveyed use supplementation daily. Motives for drop out of children in chosen basketball club

Title: Motives for drop out of children in chosen basketball club Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to conduct a case study via questionares and deep interviews find out reasons for drop out of female former players from the age categories 12-18 during the two last seasons from chosen basketball club. Methods: In thesis was used a quantitative method, more precisely questionnaires were sent via email to former female players and their parents. Along with in-depth interviews with three players and the club manager. For better accuracy and comparison of the results questions were constructed based on previously published studies about youth sport drop out. Results: The most important reason for drop out was feeling, that team is not interested in them. Of the ten most cited reasons two were structural and two interpersonal, six of them are intrapersonal constraints. Structural constrains appeared overall to be the least important. The influence of high performance sports on pregnancy, delivery and puerperium

The bachelor thesis deals with the impact of high performance sports on pregnancy, delivery and puerperium. Theoretical part is focused on the changes in the organism of a pregnant woman, especially on her diet and the impact of either excessive or deficient physical activity. This part also evaluates the suitability of individual sport activities in terms of intensity and specificity during the period of pregnancy. It also addresses the influence of sport anamnesis on the delivery during each birth periods. The thesis also seeks the theoretical basis for returning to a high performance field or maintaining an adequate physical activity during the period of puerperium and lactating. The purpose of the practical part is to compare the population of professional athletes with the average population in both qualitative and quantitative features. Data from Obstetrics-gynecology clinic are used for the quantitative part of the research and are compared with a control group of the average population. Alena Váchová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT The topic of this bachelor's thesis is appropriate nutrition for optimal performance in artistic gymnastics. It is focused on the issues of nutrition in artistic gymnastics, based on individual diet plans. It identifies individual approaches to nutrition by members of the Czech national artistic gymnastics team and makes nutritional recommendations based on most recent research findings. It also examines the differences in the diets of male and female gymnasts. The thesis is divided into a number of sections: the theoretical section describes artistic gymnastics, its history, energy intensity and the latest findings in the field of nutrition and sports diet. Setting a proper diet plan is a complex matter that is highly individual, because there is no universal and valid nutritional style for every person. Adolescents´ risk behavior in connection with their sport activity

The bachelor thesis deals with adolescent risky behaviour in connection with their sports activity. The theoretical part explains the concept of adolescence and risky behaviour. It also deals with the causes and manifestations of such behaviour. Moreover, this section contains a review of the history of sport and view of its current status in the context of the youth of today. In the empirical part the results of the questionnaire are presented and the lifestyle of athletic and non-athletic adolescents is evaluated. One of the important findings of the thesis was the lack of preventive programmes on risky behaviour in schools.
